RM Sotheby's Open Roads selected auction cars

    250 GTE 2+2 SERIES II, S/N 3723 GT (1962). Nero with beige leather. Estimate $675,000 to $725,000. Completed in August 1962 with headrests, electric windows, and Blaupunkt radio. Delivered new to Franco-Britannic Autos Ltd, Paris, France. By 2011, it was purchased by Jamiroquai founder Jay Kay. Successfully submitted for Classiche certification in April 2011. Subsequently acquired by the consignor in May 2019. Completely overhauled chassis suspension components and brake system was upgraded. The original engine has been replaced by a highly modified “outside-plug” Columbo V-12. Built around a new, un-numbered block. The original engine stamped 3723, as well as parts removed during modification, are included with the sale. Lot 247. Sold for $682,000 inclusive of applicable buyer’s fee.

 

 

    330 GTC, S/N 11395 (1968). Red with black leather. Estimate $410,500 to $458,700. Completed by Ferrari in May of 1968, originally finished in Argento Metallizzato with Nero Franzi leather interior. Delivered new through Italcar S.p.A to its first owner in Turin. Later exported to Switzerland and repainted red, where it remained for over twenty years. Invoices show a full mechanical refurbishment in April of 1986. The engine was rebuilt in 1997. It remained in Switzerland until at least 2005. Later exported to the Middle East, still wearing red paintwork over a nero leather interior. It retains its original engine, the gearbox fitted is believed to be from a 365 GTC. Lot 131. Sold for $452,000 inclusive of applicable buyer’s fee.

 

 

    456M GT, VIN ZFFWL44A810122992 (2001). Grigio Titanio with nero. Estimate $100,000 to $125,000. Built in February 2001 and delivered new to Quebec, Canada, and has remained in that province since new. 30,000 km. Fitted with new Pirelli P Zero tires in May of 2015, last serviced in February of 2017. It is recommended that the car be serviced before being driven regularly on the open road. Original manuals and tool kit. Lot 254. Not sold at $75,000 high bid.

 

 

    575M MARANELLO F1, VIN ZFFBV55AX30133721 (2003). Dark blue with cuoio interior. Estimate $110,000 to $140,000. Options include Giallo-painted brake calipers, shields, Daytona-style seat inserts. First registered in Michigan, where it remained until 2005. Subsequent owners in New York, Connecticut, and Virginia, the car was imported to Canada when it was acquired by the consignor and has remained in Montreal ever since. 12,400 miles. Invoices on file show brake caliper repaint, leather trim on the dashboard replacement, minor service in 2017. It is recommended that the car be serviced again prior to being driven regularly on the open road. Note the CARFAX reports this car was involved in an accident, but that the vehicle was not damaged. Following this incident, the passenger-side rear quarter was repainted. Lot 217. Sold for $126,500 inclusive of applicable buyer’s fee.

 

 

    612 SCAGLIETTI F1, VIN ZFFAY54B000149346 (2006). Tour de France Blu with gray interior. Estimate $84,500 to $108,600. HGTC package, carbon brakes, sports exhaust, and stiffer anti-roll bar setting. Prior to being sold new to its first private owner, it was displayed on the Ferrari stand at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. After appearing at the motor show, the car was shipped to the United Arab Emirates where it remained for several years, before being imported to the U.K. Lot 117. Sold for $78,637 inclusive of applicable buyer’s fee.

 

 

    599 GTB FIORANO F1, VIN ZFF60FCA2B0179731 (2011). Nero with cuoio interior. Estimate $150,000 to $175,000. Built in March of 2011, destined for Canada, where it has remained from new. Shields, giallo brake calipers, 20-inch Challenge wheels, a giallo tachometer, Daytona-style seat inserts, and interior carbon fiber package with carbon fiber dashboard and center-console trim. Original manuals, car cover, battery tender, and tool kit. Less than 28,700 km. Lot 224. Not sold at $145,000 high bid.

 

 

    308 GTB VETRORESINA, S/N 19135 (1976). Rosso with black interior. Estimate $144,800 to $169,000. Delivered new to Lausanne, Switzerland. McIntosh MX406 hi-fi audio. The car has apparently remained in Switzerland its entire life. Purchased by its second owner and consignor in 2006. Fewer than 52,600 km. In original, unrestored condition, with the interior showing some patina. New ANSA exhaust in 2011. Service receipts from 2006 and original owner’s manuals. Lot 136. Sold for $157,274 inclusive of applicable buyer’s fee.
