Dennis McCann in Memory

    The name Dennis McCann may not ring any bells if you have not been into Ferraris for a long time, but he was an important force in keeping many Ferraris alive today.

    McCann had a passion for Dinos, not just Dino Ferraris but anything that had the Dino engine installed.

    He began selling parts for the Dino in 1975 and was the go-to guy when it came to finding those difficult and rare parts.

    Dennis was knowledgeable and helpful when it came to getting the correct items. While most will recognize there are three different versions of the 246 GT, he knew the differences intimately and could ensure the parts he supplied would fit.

    He was often able to source parts and offer them at prices better than most of his competitors.

    The Ferrari business attracts more than its fair share of characters and Dennis also fit that description. I met him less than a handful of times but talked to him weekly when I was selling parts.

    While he was always honest and fair to deal with, I had customers that had done something to raise his ire. If you were put onto his list, he would refuse to send parts. I often would have to order for someone who was on that list.

    Dennis was an early adopter of the internet to sell parts and his website All Ferrari Parts was not only a great place to find information about Dinos but also Ferrari parts.

    He retired and sold the business in 2014 which continues today.

    The popularity of Ferrari in this country today was built by people like Dennis McCann who supplied the parts, knowledge, and passion to keep these automobiles alive.

    Dennis is no longer with us, but you can bet he is having a ball with his beloved Dino-powered Lancia Stratos.
