Terry Clark was born in Mayville, New York, onSept. 7, 1943; he was the son of Mildred and Afton Clark. Terry graduated from Mayville Central High School and the State University of New York at Buffalo.

During college, he worked summers at a resort hotel, The Peacock Inn, where he met his wife of nearly 59 years, Barbara Joan Tener. Terry and Barbara were married in August of 1966. Terry graduated fourth in his class from the University of Buffalo Medical School in 1971, and was accepted at an internship program in Cooperstown, NY, after which he completed a three-year radiology residency in Charlottesville, VA. The family then moved to “Liberty Hill” in Clemson, SC, in 1977, where Terry and Barbara made their home and raised their two children.

Terry practiced radiology in the upstate of South Carolina for 31 years. Terry was nothing if not enthusiastic. Whether playing sports or participating in student government and band in high school, playing drums in two rock and roll bands in college, practicing radiology, raising funds for charity, or being “Poppy” to his beloved grandsons, he gave his all. A man of many interests and an incurable collector, Terry educated himself about and furnished the family home one piece at a time with American country furniture, paintings, and folk art. He also collected sports memorabilia and classic automobiles. He loved watching Formula One racing, Clemson Tiger sports, and tennis. Terry was a member of Clemson United Methodist Church and served on the finance committee. He was also a member of the Rotary Club of Clemson, and served on boards at the Clemson FreeClinic, Clemson Downs, and Soteria Community Development Corporation in Greenville. He was a tireless fundraiser for Rotary, the Free Clinic, and Lakes and Bridges Charter School. He was involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for many years and was the awards chair for several years.

Terry is survived by his wife Barbara, daughter Shannon, son Nathan Elizabeth Chaka), and grandsons Bennell, Banks, and Crawford Clark, all of Clemson, SC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Philip Afton Clark, of Kissimmee, FL.

Terry Clark was a collector at a time when collectors used and enjoyed driving their car. At one point Clark owned three SWB berlinettas at the same time! He also owned three different SWB California. Although, not all at the same time! I will never forget the sound of his lime green SWB with Corvette engine and automatic transmission booming around Road Atlanta at the 1978 FCA Annual Meet.

We owe a debt of gratitude to these early Ferrari owners who helped to keep the passion and cars alive to be enjoyed today.

Rest in Peace my friend. JW.
