Bonhams auction review. Selected Ferraris from the October 11,2020 The Zoute Sale

      250 GT/L, S/N 5017 (1963). Silver with black leather. Estimate $1.9 million to $2.1 million. Delivered at the end of 1963 to Mr. Ferdinand de Valenciennes by Franco-Britannic Automobiles. About 1970 the car passed into the hands of a Mr. Domet, and ten years later was bought by Charles Pozzi. Mr. Pozzi kept the Lusso from 1980 until 2004. In 2002, his daughter Christine drove in the Tour Auto. In 2004 it was sold to Mr. Rouer of Paris. Mr. Rouer competed in the Tour Auto in 2012. Passing to a Mr. Hibert of Brussels in 2014, it remained unused until 2018 when it was acquired by the present owner, who commissioned a total restoration. Documented in full, the rebuild was carried out by the best specialists in Modena, with no limit on the budget: Bacchelli & Villa for the bodywork; Garuti for the mechanicals; and Luppi for the interior trim. Ferrari certified at the completion of the restoration in December 2019. 257 km. since restoration. Lot 22. Sold for $2.1 million.

 

 

F512 M, VIN ZFFVA40B000101013 (1994). Red with black interior, red cloth seat inserts. Estimate $150,000 to $190,000. The current vendor located this F512 M in Spain early in 2015. It had covered about 18,400 km. (approximately 11,400 miles) and came with the lightweight carbon fiber Recaro seats and two-piece luggage set. Upon arrival in the UK the car was serviced and the headlamps converted to UK specification. Since then it has been serviced twice: in 2015 at 19,028 km. and in 2017 at 19,499 km. The current mileage is 19,828 km. Bills for all UK work is in the history folder together with those accumulated in Spain. Leather wallet contains instruction manuals and fully stamped service booklet. Lot 33. Sold for $196,548.

 

 

612 SCAGLIETTI F1 ‘VANDENBRINK SHOOTING BRAKE’, VIN ZFFAY54B000143566 (2005). Dark gray with tan interior. Estimate $180,000 to $290,000. This one-off Shooting Brake conversion of a 612 Scaglietti was commissioned by the current owner; the task was entrusted to coachbuilder Vandenbrink in Holland, who had first proposed such a modification as far back as 2009. The assignment was completed in 2018. Starting with a little used (28,000 kilometres) 612 Scaglietti, Vandenbrink took 15 months and more than 2,500 hours to complete the transformation. Other special features include an electric tailgate and windows in the roof above the rear seat passengers, who also benefit from increased headroom as well as a more capacious luggage compartment. Offered with Spanish registration papers. Lot 32. Sold for $243,990.

 

 

F12berlinetta, VIN ZFF74UHB000207487 (2014). Argento Auteil with contrasting stripe in Giallo across the bonnet and front wings, referencing the livery of the Bianchi/Berger 250 GTO of 1964. Supplied with two separate sets of fully electric seats: one set in Heritage Mahagoni leather, the second in Blue Historic fabric (similar to the color and fabric of the original GTO’s seats). This car was used by Ferrari to test two new materials for the first time: SuperFabric and Mycro Prestige black fabric. Estimate $460,000. The only one of its kind, ‘TdF 64’ was completed in December 2014 and made its debut in January 2015. One month later the car was displayed at the Geneva Motor Show. Invited to many prestigious events: Tour de France Auto (2015); Targa Florio Classica in Sicily (2015); Chantilly Arts & Elegance (2015, 2016); and various Ferrari Owners Days (2015-). Delivered new to Luxembourg and still in the hands of its original owner. 14,500 km. Recent service on 11th September 2020. Free yearly maintenance by Ferrari dealers is available until end of 2022. Original official documents signed by Sergio Marchionne with dedicated materials and links to many videos, press articles, and other media. Lot 1004. Not sold.

 

 

F430 SPIDER, VIN ZFFEZ59B000143896 (2005). Red with cream interior. European market version, which spent the majority of its life in Spain. Daytona-style seats and carbon fiber dashboard inserts, and the seats and dash have red stitching. It has a black top and is fitted with the period option of 19” Challenge wheels. 18,000 km. Lot 35. Sold for $97,596.
